Apes on Tapes and Homework Records Netlabel can really be proud of this one!
We collected a four tracks remix release from last Apes on Tapes’ “You Open” album, putting together some of the best artists we are in touch with.
[HWR010] “Catkilla eats Fishpasta” features remixes by Eriksolo, half of the abstract groovy hip hop duo Meanest Man Contest from San Francisco; Touane, Homework fellow who flew to Berlin at Persona Records’ court some years ago; Ether, glitchy broken IDM trio from Florence, with references on Mousikelab and Audioaubergine; and dreamy classy indietronic label mate Micamat.
Eriksolo, Touane and Ether revisited the track Catkilla in three distinctive personal ways: Eriksolo brought to the track MMC’s groovy heavy touch with old school vocal samples and a powerful beat line; Touane had a more psychedelic ambient view, completely re-doing the track’s structure; Ether confirmed the hip hop beat with softer classy glitches, rounded by smooth bass lines. Micamat deconstructed Fishpasta in a heavier version, ending in a fast broken beat remix.
Homework Records can be proud of such names for its first remixes release!
