Lost in the digital avenues of mixing and mastering, the “Galaxy Brotherhood EP” wandered all summer in our heads and now found its way, with a crystal clear sound, into your ears! Moody yet dreamy, mystical and intense, the trippy soundscapes of Lagos are beautifully matched with idm/breakbeat distorted rhythms and haunting melodies to create the 10 minutes of music that mark the start for ‘This Side Down’…

All tracks w+p by Manolis Lagoudakis 2007, Crete, Greece.
Mastering by Manolis Katsifarakis.

Sound Copyright says: “Copyright in sound recordings currently lasts for 50 years. Yet the recording industry continues to demand that this term be extended. … But term extension would be an injustice to European musicians and musical culture, and may harm our economy.

… Copyright is a bargain. In exchange for their investment in creating and distributing sound recordings to the public, copyright holders are granted a limited monopoly during which are allowed to control the use of those recordings. This includes the right to pursue anyone who uses their recordings without permission. But when this time is up, these works join Goethe, Hugo and Shakespeare in the proper place for all human culture – the public domain.

… Seminal soul, reggae, and rock and roll recordings will soon be freed from legal restrictions, allowing anyone (including the performers themselves and their heirs) to preserve, reissue, and remix them.

… Major record labels want to keep control of sound recordings well beyond the current 50 year term so that they can continue to make marginal profits from the few recordings that are still commercially viable half a century after they were laid down.

If you agree that copyright term on sound recordings should not be extended past 50 years, please, sign this petition today. Together, we can defeat copyright term extension.”

Sound Copyright is an initiative by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and the Open Rights Group (ORG).

Aqueous subtlety - the little blue crystals of my soul …

Drops of melting icicles - the harbinger of the spring fresh wind in my face …

Drops falling from nowhere - the precursor of my favourite dreams.

Every little drop - the beginning of a big raging river that eventually combines with a greater one…

A world of purity and innocence - where the body becomes more transparent than the water, where the thoughts are dissolved in the light blue haze …

glioksizom_p53.XII.413 is a collection of material by ivana primorac under her pseudonym 53. a dark and powerful combination of acoustic instruments with cold eclectic electronic soundscapes.
while some songs let you bask in the warmth of dark yet candyfloss cello sounds, others may let you question anything that ever made you happy. diving into 53’s sound world is a personal journey through the depths of your own mind. beware, the opening track, “solitude”, will pull you immediately into her world, and the sheer enormity of vertigo may grip you.
53 opens doors people would often keep locked.
words like silence, sadness, rage lose their meaning and just can’t sufficiently describe what happens when you jump into 53’s swimming pool of human abyss.

Kahvi is back on the pure IDM track with release #240. A very welcome return to Abyssal Plains with this piece of nine track perfection.

Echo’s of Planet Boelex begin the release in ‘nautilus’, the amazingly moving and haunting ‘karimata straight’ features a little later and ‘the hidden people’ is straight out of Boards of Canada. This is the kind of release that perfectly fits the Kahvi vibe, sentiments of electronica and this ep will certainly give you a buzz for weeks to come.

Note: this is the first release to include cover artwork embedded in the mp3 files.

Moabi from Toulouse, France, collected three own pieces and two remixes for this fantastic release called “Hanami” (japanese for “enjoying the beauty of flowers”).

Set up between Electronica, IDM, Experimental music and Ambient, all five pieces have a very unique, deep feeling. An impressive mix of beautiful melodies, intense atmosphere and twinkle-toed beats. Starting with the more beat-orientated “Hey You” the EP gets calmer with every following track, finding it’s end in the quiet and subtle “Moll”-piece with over nine minutes of glitches and hounted melodies.

Warm your cold winter-feet with this warming organic sounds.

Tracks 1 to 5 written and produced by Moabi (c) Toulouse, France.
Tracks 2 and 4 are remixes of the following artists: Manekinekod and Five String Sam

netlabelism.net is very very proud to announce its next musical achievement. The mixtape netlabel OP3N sent netlabelism.net an invitation to make a mixtape, and this resulted in “Netwaves: mixed emotions“. This mix is not a showcase of DJ skills in the first place, but rather an anthology of musical pearls hidden in the vast amount of tunes on the internet. The songs are alternated by field recordings, taped in Louvain, a little university town in Belgium. Besides being the hometown of netlabelism.net, it is also famous for its beer Stella Artois.

The mix was compiled by embe, with a little help from TransistorLab.
Also available at an archive in your neighbourhood.

We also want to thank the very busy bee Applezup for the great care and his patience and for this opportunity.

Michel Berghs aka EMBE leads netlabelism.net, one of the most important netaudio resources from Belgium. One of my favourite sections is the all time top 100 tracks, which includes all kind of stuff. Michel accepted my invitation and blended 90 minutes of netaudio pearls covered with some of his own daily field recordings. It certainly is a personal job, which is one of op3n.net’s goals.

Hi there.
My name is Pete, I produce and present a net audio radio show/podcast.
It’s released Monday to Friday and runs to an hour or more. It is made
of quality electronic music from around the world, with the focus on
netlabels. There is very little in the way of DJ chat, I prefer to let
the music shine through and get the attention.

The shows from this week are now online. You can download them
directly from the links in this message, or subscribe using iTunes (or
similar podcast downloader):

Deadman and Digi bring the noise in this little song about “no” featuring Chuck D courtesy of CCMixter. Deadman holds his own against Chuck in this odd collection of melodic snippets ending in a heroic guitar tribute to this song.
