For those who doesn’t know the meaning of miniatura : Etymology. From the Italian miniatura (manuscript illumination), from miniare (to illuminate), from the Latin miniare (to colour red), from minium (red lead). Adjective. miniature (comparative more miniature, superlative most miniature) Smaller than normal.
To celebrate our first year online, we got together many different approaches all refer to minimal concept experimenting samples to construct new pieces in the truly independent existence of the sounds. Through this last year we could get into many different concepts of minimalism, mixed with banging techno dancefloor, glitchy smooth, dub beats, among others… We wanna thank our artists that came together with this project, they all have a place in our mini-crew called Miniatura, and of course,Thank You Great Public!!!, thanks a lot for choosing our purposal & sound, and supporting us with your downloads and including our tracks in your mixes… And so, ones who also support our new
digital project… Cheers for all that !!! Happy First Anniversary!!!

This compilation is an exquisite selection of well known artists and new talents. Beggining with dark smooth and senseful sounds; along the 8 tracks fairly steady rhythm starts passing through modern groovy basslines till more dancefloor ones. Sublime glitches and minimalist dub techno sounds finishes this album and makes it easy to hear in any occasion.

Combat Recordings boss Stormfield whips up a showcase of shadowy speaker-shredders from label artists.
Since launching in 2004, Combat Recordings hasn’t so much carved a niche in London’s bass music scene as hacked a gaping hole in it with a heffing great katana. Oscillating between brooding breakbeats, brutalist electro and rough-edged 2-step/dubstep flavours, label releases have been dropping thick and fast from respected bass technicians such as Ardisson, Blackmass Plastics, Point B, Scanone and, most recently, the mighty Scorn.
Featuring highlights from the Combat back catalogue alongside unreleased goodies (such as Threnody’s dubplate-only remix of Unnatural Causes by Paradox — a track you’ll never hear again in any other form), this mix was recorded late last year by label boss Stormfield. A shortened version of the mix recently featured on Rob Booth’s excellent Electronic Explorations podcast series; the show has served up a ton of great guest mixes from the likes of Surgeon, Milanese and Neil Landstrumm — if you’ve not caught the series so far, head over there and get up to speed.

‘A Warm Place With No Memory’ is From The Sky’s third release and displays a huge progression from their previous work, upping the complexity and ambition whilst retaining the melodic hooks, short compositions and detailed structure which sets them apart in the Post-Rock landscape.
Multiple influences combine to produce a cohesive yet varied EP, from melodic passages to heavy riffs, rhythmic math to soaring post-rock noise. ‘A Warm Place….’ shifts from pin-drop quiet to crashing distortion encompassing everything in between and is definitely From The Sky’s best release so far.

If your familiar with the music of Kevin M. Krebs composing under is 833-45 alias, then I think that you’ll agree that Tunguska might just be his most compelling work to date under that guise. Tunguska is continuation of a theme that began with the self-released, limited CD-R Solar Cycle 23 (reissued by Autoplate as a free, virtual album in 2002) and of his early live work at the time fusing noise, captured radio signals, and programmed beats into a potent long-player of rhythmic ambient noise.
Just the association of the names 833-45 and Tunguska is suggestive of the sonic power inherent to this album. On the one hand, we have 833-45 delivering his own formidable take on electronic music and the noise aesthetic, but along with that we have the powerful image of the well documented 1908 Tunguska Event in which a massive explosion (possibly caused by the air burst of large meteoroid or comet fragment) flattened over 2000 square kilometers of a remote region in Russia.
Whether it be the abstract, broken industrial beats and strident noise of the title track, the relentless, intoxicating rhythm of Assassins, the beatless backdrop and surging, distorted electronic tones of Amethyst, the melancholic and near apocalyptic atmosphere of Alamut, or the swirling, electronic lamentations and distant voices of Ialdaboath, listening to the sixteen tracks on Tunguska is an immersive sound experience that you will not soon forget.
Coupled with some enigmatic track titles that only intensify the already mysterious aura surrounding the 1908 enigma, Tunguska is an aural experience that is sure to bring you to a state of sonic bliss.
