The second album and first LP of Planete Sauvage presents seven pieces of a
quite melancholic caracter. Most of them are given as a tribute to their
creators different passions, first of all cinema, but also litterature and
philosophy.

1-Melancholia (Kassiel)
A novel from the japaneese writter-scenarist Ryu Murakami gave the piece it’s
name, but its theme was inspired by David Cronenberg’s subversive film Crash,
eroticism and death allegory. Besides we can hear the bewitching voice of the beautiful Deborah Unger.

2-Nos Annees Sauvages - Our Wild Years (Kassiel)
This is the french title of the movie Days Of Being Wild, from the chineese
director Wong Kar Wai.The duo remembers his youth full of hopes, yet outraged
and rebellious, related to their father’s youth, enthusiasmes and desillusions ( the french student’s revolt in May 1968, first man on the moon 1969…).

3-La Metamorphose Des Krolls - Metamorphosis Of The Krolls (Kassiel)
Personnal reflections on Guy Debord’s thought , tribute to the free souls.

4-Le Monologue De La Rose Morte - The Dead Rose’s Monologue (Usull)
Back to our father’s revolt and their youth : the decay of one’s soul is becoming an ironic large audience show, with this imaginary soundtrack of one of the most breathtaking scene played by Marlon Brando, in Bernardo Bertolucci’s Dernier Tango a Paris - ( Last Tango In Paris ).

5-Cassiel (Kassiel)
Caracter from the films Wings Of Desire and So Far So Close of the german director Wim Wenders ( in this case, more”berliner” than anything else ), Cassiel is before all the angel of solitude, the one who cannot but look and listen.

6-Le Retour De Biculah Dans Sa Patrie (chapitre2) - The Return Of Biculah In His Land (part two) (Kassiel)
Second episode of Biculah’s adventures, back on his journey in Berlin, our hero, quite a bit desillusioned will cross the path of one of the greatest 20th century’s thinker, Herbert Marcuse.

7-L’ Eveil De Shemty - The Awakening of Shempty (Kassiel - Usull)
Nymphean Chant rising upon the birthplace of our next messiah ( see The Book Of The Shadows - Amagimah’s Epistle - chapter one - Resurrection - verses 18 - 23).

First “Planete Sauvage” EP containing four songs composed between 2002 and 2003, three from Kassiel and one from Usull in collaboration with Kassiel.

- Track 1 Cecilia (Kassiel) inspired by a four strings old dream, with a linear and gradual construction, the used material is principally a recycling of six amplified strings on magnetic tapes.

- Track 2 La saison des pluies (Kassiel) : Free orchestration of an Indian raga “the rainy season”, principally digital and pattern looped,somewhat trance-sylvianien.

- Track 3 Extension 3 (Usull - Kassiel) : it’s in fact probably the fourth or the fifth but it was not proven, whatever the case, this classical piece conception is based on groovebox motifs directed by Usull in transit at the port authority of Marseille in a poverty advanced state, and reworked with Kassiel in a chronic depression state.

- Track 4 Resonance (Kassiel) : another classical form example (A-B ba) essentially built around some electro samples, having in common two ascending notes repeated successively.

17 Years musician living in Poland. I use Fl Studio with many VST’s like Vanguard, Sytrus, Synful Orchestra etc. I’m doing music for about 5 years, but I don’t think about professional carrer. It’s just my hobby ;)

If I’ll get enough money for buying professional software/hardware, my tracks should sound more professional, maybe with vocals (at last!), but now this is just too much for me.

Off Land is an ambient project by Tim Dwyer. With ambient textures, little field recording snippets, spoken word phrases and classical instruments, Off Land takes place in the space between minimal, ambient and contemporary classical music.

With 8 pieces and 75 minutes duration, “Encounter Point” is a monumental ambient work. All pieces are arranged very carefully and with a great sense for intensity and tension. The single tracks seem quite minimal and pure on the surface, but when you listen carefully, you can hear layers of different sound sources. There are outdoor-field recording parts, layered with soft keyboard patterns that fade into a slight beat, combined with a shy guitar melody. Every layer is like a unique story line through the complete work.

It’s a great acoustic quality when you’ve a huge depth of multiple sounds in the composition which don’t crush you, but instead give you the possibility to explore more and more with each listening.

For the first time on EarXP we present Swoon from Switzerland. Swoon who’s real name is Elias Kohli is based in Baden, Switzerland.
Swoon is a multi-instrumentalist and has played in a lot of groups and is used to play a lot of different styles. His first release is a full album with ten tracks on it. It’s a relaese with many different moods, from very deep loungy to experimental with the use of surprising rhythm patrons and fluid soundscapes and sounddesigns. Remarkable is the use of a guitar in many tracks. It’s a surprising and high quality release. So enjoy

The Resting Bench Remix Project has been supported by Awards For All & Cumbria County Council as part of Monkey Noises, our education programme

The original Resting Bench was a collaboration between poet Ann Wilson and Clutter for a mixed media exhibition which was held at The Nest in Barrow-in-Furness from May-July 2006

The Resting Bench album - which includes the soundscape, the original recordings of the poems and copies of the exhibition artwork is available here

All the original sound files are still available to download under creative commons licence. They are yours to remix, remould and generally have fun with.
