“This mp3 LP is a collection of ambient tracks, moody interludes, soundscapes and excerpts from larger electro-acoustic pieces I did during my undergrad at SARC, Belfast. Some tracks require delicate listening but most can be listened to either tuned in or out. Hopefully.

Winter Mindphone excerpts are composed entirely from processed and unprocessed recordings from my alto saxophone. Noise of shape and sound excerpt is composed entirely with the white noise oscillator in Audiomulch.

Fresh from his successes on Planet-Mu, Barry has given us this nice little slice from his past.

From Barry - “I made Koss, 98 Loop and Rhodes Draft in 1998 right after I got my first PC for doing tunes on. I was heavily into DJ Shadow so I wanted to try putting tracks together from samples of old vinyl, which I already had a decent sized collection of thanks to my Dad. I also spent ages going through all the record shops in Belfast looking for old jazz and soundtracks and stuff like that to sample when I first started university. I still like the tracks, probably cos I still like the source material. There’s a version of Koss with a nice Hendrixy guitar solo but the rest of the track is a mess so you get the more chilled version here.

The other two tracks were done digitally in reaktor 3 and were made a bit after.

The second full-length album from Terra Engine, this album is a powerful expansion of the themes initially explored in “Power Ambience” (released through Amduscias Records — http://www.archive.org/details/AMR112). Featuring the almost overwhelming electro-drone now known as ‘power ambience’, the music also ventures deep into the realm of experimental industrial soundscapes, harrowing dark ambient passages, menacing bass pulsations and avant-garde electronica.

Khvarenah is a Zoroastrian concept denoting “glory” or “splendor, but also refers to divine mystical forces as well as the will to persevere and continue forward. The music contained within the album is an exploration of this and other Zoroastrian concepts. This release explores the Zoroastrian mythos, in that Egyptian, Greek, Odinistic, and other such legends have been used far too often in musical, artistic, and conceptual works, whereas the Zoroastrian ideologies/concepts are, by the scarce nature of the actual adherents of the religion (less than 2,000,000 worldwide) not as well known outside the worshipers of the religion.

I had just discovered all of this amazing music online available under a creative commons license. I was a bit overwhelmed with the quantity and quality of the music. So I thought I’d make a mix attempting to showcase these artists. That way I could share what I’d found with my friends. I wanted to include as many artists and netlabels as possible. I wasn’t sure where to start, so I picked a BPM and decided to make it a dub-techno, dub-house mix. This is that mix and I have put it online here in the hope that it will help to promote these artists and labels and introduce even more people to the wonders of creative commons licensed music.

Murdelta war so gut und hat aus dem ganzen Wust an Audiomitschnitten des letzten ChaosCommunicationCongress die Audiofiles herrausgefiltert, in denen wir für die Musik zuständig waren. Der erste Part davon war ein superslower Dubtechno-Mix, der fast ausschließlich aus einer LP bestand, der zweite Teil davon war ein Live-Set. Zugegeben nicht das beste, da Inge krank und ich alleine war. Aber immerhin das erste Live-Set von uns überhaupt im Netz.
