Tcsh - driving & flipping… Tcsh is track that seriously involves everyone who hears it into a new kind of looking through the ‘electronic-music glasses’. Stop, drop, roll! – This song gives out directives as it was some kind of a smooth & up-running drill sergeant whose manners are polite & intentions are good, yet there’s something about his approach that doesn’t add up to the whole “nice & shiny” picture.

Ash - a techno classic that is suitable for both, moving you across the whole dance floor with its pumping beat or as a DJ tool that will come in great for powering up the mix at its high point. This one is a definite reminder to everyone who has forgotten how pure techno sounds & feels like.

X-Term - drive baby… drive!! Kicks, snares, hats, kick-ass dark bass, back-spins & old school breaks… these are more than enough to send anybody on the real journey of electronic sound or more to be more precise “techno”. Bash - a track whose name is a description it self. This one is a real basher which will make you jump from one feet to the other even if it’s almost morning. Powerful beats combined with carefully implanted breaks and then spiced up with a mashed-up vocal together give us a real floor-killer! Caution for all the DJs out there: use this one only when you need a ’sure thing’ on the floor! The future is now… and it’s bashing around!

Dash - the story continues, as it should of course. Dash is actually some sort of a sequel to its rhyme brother ‘Bash’. Pumping & driving techno track with sexxxy female vocal & kick-you-in-the-nuts bass! Ready for some ‘action’?

The Swedish band The Search wraps catchy pop melodies into a gloomy cloak, creating escaping the daily grey routines. When the press is talking about The Search, they speak of a beautiful retro-mix of wave and rock in the vein of The Cure and Joy Division. The band does not deny their roots, but take pleasure in paraphrasing them in their own slightly deranged and atmospheric way.

In order to achieve a wider musical range on their 4th album ‘Saturnine Songs’ they hooked up two diferent producers. Kristofer Jönson from the band Jeniferever was hired to conjure up the melancholic, darker part of the album with songs like ‘Yes-Man’ and ‘Swimmer’ and Elof Loelv, producer and musician, was engaged to invoke the electronical parts in songs like ‘Distant’ and ‘Other People’, where he created a catchy, yet dreamy sound. The album is mastered at Studio Tonteknik by Magnus Lindberg, a well-known mastering engineer.

The eleventh release in the series of Ambient Train Wreck back catalog releases by ambient/electronic artist Palancar.

One of the many aspects of Palancar’s music is live performance, both in front of live audiences and over live net radio. As part of his weekly net radio program over the past several years, Palancar has done many live improvisational ambient performances, which the artist nicknamed “Ambient Train Wrecks” - and the name has stuck ever since. Everything heard in these tracks is live and untouched, except for mastering of the recordings themselves.

Note that Palancar has released several commercial collections of his favorite performances, under the title Ambient Train Wreck Series. Unlike those releases, the Ambient Train Wreck Back Catalog series contains the large number of train wrecks that have never been released commercially, and are only available from Earth Mantra.

Record label Ghostly International and modern cult classic programmers [Adult Swim] have paired up for a compilation of new music and art.

A genre-busting 19-song collection, stretching the entire Ghostly International galaxy, Ghostly Swim explores the Avant-Pop style that the Ann Arbor/New York City label has been been championing for the past 9 years. Ghostly Swim features artists like Matthew Dear, Dabrye, Tycho and Aeroc and features new signings like UK cult band The Chap and NYC producer Michna.

The free collection also includes favorite friends of the label like School Of Seven Bells, and Detroit’s Deastro, Milosh (Plug Research), FLYamSAM (Warp’s Flying Lotus and SAMIYAM), and Dark Party (Mush). The word Triplexity is a portmanteau of triplex and complexity. Triplexity is a virtual band, its members never met each other face to face, all collaborations came to live thru the Internet. It would be difficult to define Triplexity’s musical style inasmuch it’s extremely varied and versatile, there are no two tracks sounding alike. One time it may be jazzy, another time harsh and electronic, sometimes ethnic and organic and sometimes abstract and ambient. There are some qualities though that always persist in Triplexity’s music : uniqueness, complexity, intelligence and threefold talent of the trio members.

Triplexity is a virtual trio consisting of Nikila, SaReGaMa and Hamelin Bérengnier. This is a highly polished but refreshingly versatile ensemble that play a scintillating mixture of nu-jazz, new age music, and world fusion. The twelve tracks offer a variety of moods and sound. The opening “Between Light and Shadow” is smooth jazz with an exotic vocal by Moving Sands. “Three 4 Ten” excites the senses and the mind in 10/8 time and their cover of John Coltrane’s “A Love Supreme” is surprisingly danceable. Latin beat and funk are also in abundant on some tracks and treated with the same effortless virtuosity. The only time the album gives me pause is on a couple IDM/ambient tracks that breaks up the groove but even these are well performed. Over all, this is a good album of world beats and new age jazz grooves.
