Skalpel are DJs/musicians Marcin Cichy and Igor Pudło from Wrocław in Poland. After releasing a demo entitled Polish Jazz in 2000, they were picked up by the UK independent record label, Ninja Tune.
Their musical style is a distinctive blend of hip hop beats, laced with samples lifted from the rich seam of Polish jazz records of the 1960s and 1970s. In 2003 Skalpel realise 14 thematic mixes for Enigma Radio (Radiostacja). There are 8 here.
