Aleks B was introduced to the world of electronic music in 1999 when he attended the massive raves at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto. At that time, Aleks was influenced by Chicago House pioneers Dj Sneak, Derrick Carter and Mark Farina.

He was then compelled to start dj’ing at the age of 17 and stared to compile masses of records being released every week at Toronto’s legendary Play De Record.

In 2001, Aleks B Started throwing one off warehouse parties in the downtown Toronto area for a tight knit group of friends.

By 2003 his dj’ing regressed and was faced with decisions about careers and dealing with college but still kept up the love for House music by collecting new releases and playing out at intimate gatherings.

The Summer of 2005 set the stage for a new evolution to Aleks’ game. Aleks Then decided to switch to digital music and left the vinyl behind. He then started exploring the horizons of what is commonly referred to as Progressive House and Tech-House and gained influence from the likes of James Zabiela, Lee Burridge and Sasha. At this time, an alliance was made with a like-minded dj and producer; Korben, who furthered Aleks’s boundary pushing of the cutting edge House music.

In 2006, Aleks began collaborating on production with long-time ally Johnny Digits. From then onwards, production has been Aleks B’s main focus musically and it continues to yield some interesting results, still pushing beyond the packs of average dj’s!
