Once upon a time i was working on a radiostation and we had a task to record some speeches for Emergency Department. So, an actor from the local theater was invited and all the instructions were spoken over the microphone. One record was about what to do if an incident on the Volgodonsk Nuclear Power Plant (aka Rostov Atomic Power Plant) happens. The text was scary and actual (Volgodonsk is about 260 km from Taganrog) and, of course, i decided to use it. That’s how the Nuclear Volgodonsk trilogy appeared. Firstly, there were only 3 tracks, 2 with no vocals and sounding almost the same (part 1 & 2) and the third one, totally different, with instructions. Plus, DJ Spell from Moscow made a mind-blowing dancefloor-friendly-acid remix (which was then taken by Diggarama netlabel as a part of Mystique EP) on one of them. I tried to release the whole EP, but labels i got connections with, at that moment showed no interest.
Time passed, i re-mastered all the tracks and added 2 more, similar in emotional sense, and decided to finally put everything together as an integral story. Listen to the warnings and be aware of the Power of Atom! Amen!
Thanks to his dad Dica grew up with electronic music by J.M. Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schultze, Space, Charlie Mike Sierra, Johan Timman, Alphaville and lots of others.
Strongly influenced by the artists mentioned, Dica found his way to the recordstores and started collecting his own vinyl in the early nineties. After buying one of the first relaeses on Bunker Records a neverending love for underground music was born.
And what’s there to say about the Leiden based DJ/organiser at this time? He’s still just your average guy that loves to play electronic dance music dated from the late seventies till present day. Dica likes to play long sets in which he can combine disco with acid, italo, electro, [chicago/detroit]house and other obscurities not suitable for the narrowminded. Dica also spins his tunes under the name of Klaus Bonnewitz. Aware of the fact that the music industry has been digitalised, he plays vinyl only.

This EP is focused on artists in our home town of Vancouver, BC. As you’d expect from Xynthetic it covers a bit of ground and mixes a variety of genres. We’ve got 10 tracks covering 80s-mode Acid House, minimalist Techno and TechHouse to Leftfield grooves and sliced and diced glitch. This is our first time really focusing on the community here and we’re very happy with the results.
Tracks from The Automatic Message, Bloodway, Tim Gerwing, Konketsu, Stimuless Package, JGarrett, Trent Crawford, Mind’s Eye Robot, Dialectic, and Filip Gorecki.
Can you jack? Snuff Crew’s eponymous debut is a paean to the sound of Chicago – beefed-up-but-still-lo-fi 303-heavy jams, with the Gigolos’ punk attitude still present and correct. The perfect time, then, for an acid selection, past and present…
“Future Proof” by Tech Star is the largest solo release in bump side ever.
Tr. 1 to 3 : minimal techno.
Tr. 4 to 6 : not “four to the floor” (breakbeat or trip-hop).
Tr. 7 and 8 : acid techno.
Tr. 9 and 10 : back to minimal.
Tr. 11 to 13 : housy style.
Tr. 14 : back to techno, with an old-school flavour.
The 2nd LP from Berlin’s Vertical67. His last album, ‘Reflect’ remains among the most popular ACPs to this day, but this one certainly tops it, feeling more like a complete album. The themes are similar, at times uplifting and psychedelic, others dark and melancholic, but his production has come on a long way. In our opinion, this LP deserves to rank with the best of 2009, and is certainly among the best Acroplane releases to date.
A rare cohesive release for me dedicated fully to the dance floor. Explorations into the classic elements of house, techno, minimal, acid, and disco. Feel free to move!
ZD brings us his 3rd release on Audiocast Productions, a 3 track EP comprising of remasters of some of his earlier tracks, and what a great job he’s done at polishing them up. As ever though ZD comes at us with his clever use of vocal sampling and use of effects, this entire release is definately something to watch out for!
this week we’ve got a corker of a mix from our good friend scott edwards, more commonly known as avus. scott has clocked up an enviable amount of release of some of the most highly regarded labels around including klang, perc trax and border community as well as knocking out remixes for jesse somfay, james holden and recent AA contributor one little plane. Zanex Dissociation comes in with his second release, and just when you think that he can’t fuse any more different styles together, This release is a work of art, there are elements of IDM/Glitch along with a Trance like vibe and still retaining the Acid House/Hip Hop feel from his first release.
Dig this awesome mix of house, acid, techno and offbeat disco by Biscuit. He’s from a city called Perth where they put good musical taste in the water and so far many disciples have been thoroughly infected. Now resident in Melbourne, he’s been making his own limited edition mixes with great artwork. Mind Dance was recorded live in April on 99.9% Vinyl. Also check out The Blackmail Mix on Biscuit’s blog.

Acid Mikhalych is an acieeeed phreak from Moscow. 100% hardware addicted and 100% lively recorded. He has already showed us his teeth on RTSW4, and now here’s a mini-album for you. 5 excellent tracks, each one with it’s own character. Acid for the masses, acid everyday. So, if you’re an acid fan – be sure to play this release loud while having some smiley pills tonight, and if you’re a DJ, obey now, and sacrifice your soul for the Gods of Acid!
One afternoon, in the waiting room of a needle exchange, I watched afternoon telly and bashed out four new tracks. Individually, in one take, I recorded them live onto tape.
Outside, methadone addicts argued ferociously about hardcore lager and fed a dog raw steak. Inside, an over sensitive monster vented at the imagined scent of a tofu passanda.
Acroplane now present you a small slice of my life, down and around BN1 4GB.
Sascha Müller is back with the 3rd episode of the ‘Acid Is The Only Drug’ mix series. This one is called the ‘Tribetoolz vs. Säurebad edition’ and features wicked acid house tracks from these netlabels. Turn up your speakers and dance to the sound of the 303!
Beat Doctor explores several styles in this three track E.P. release. “Beast” is an acid driven house track with a huge squelchy TB-303 style riff. “Crazy Gamer” is a dark, progressive electro house track with bleeping effects and a hard, dark distorted bass. Completing the trio is “Far Too Retro”, a rework of the 2008 track “Too Retro” featuring old skool rave sounds and breakbeats with a modern, electro house twist. All three tracks are available in DJ friendly, full length mixes ready to download in MP3 format.
Scrubber Fox has been tearing up our live shows with floor-filler acid rinseouts, off-kilter melodies and tumbling breakbeats to our great pleasure, and he’s back for summer with a totally fresh live setup that will leave heads scratched, feet raw and sweat dripping from the ceiling. Having released on Skam, Merck and now The Centrifuge, the heads know about Scrubber and it’s time you did too.
