There is something about the small town Groningen, in The Netherlands. After releasing Molgam and Transjuicer, 23 Seconds now proudly presents: Cosmic Spring.
Cosmic Spring brings electronic music with a real ‘live’ touch. Vibrant long threads of psychedelic notes, warm harmonies and cool flotations, hypnotic guitar repetitions, weird SFX, full throttle basses and lots of pounding breakbeat drum.
This is a band that loves old analog synths, obscure intruments, space distortions and noise enhancing stuff. And there goal is to take you on a musical journey to discover unknown frequencies in the Universe of Sounds.
Get in, lift-off and space out!

On his privately released debut album Zoë muj (So tired) D’r Sjaak turned the rather traditionalist world of music from the Dutch province of Limburg into a lo-fi, experimental playground.
And then D’r Sjaak moved on. His virtual single Meatje made waves on regional radio and in the national music press.
“A strange and inventive mixture of Neue Deutsche Welle, hip hop, house and electropop”, raved one magazine.
Lee Foss puts together one of our favourite podcasts this week, a perfect warm up to his eagerly anticipated visit. Owner of the up and coming label Culprit and one half of Hot Natured which he coproduces with Jamie Jones on, Lee is a massive talent hailing from Chicago. With unique productions such as “The Edge” & “Electric Jones” you can see why he was of the most sought after acts right now. His mix lives up to the hype with 75 minutes of quality deep disco infused cuts. A podcast not to be missed from the Culprit head honcho.
The point is that I am no longer Domu. He is a character, always has been, and as of Friday 13th November 2009, he no longer exists. Neither does Umod, Sonar Circle, Bakura, Yotoko, Rima, Zoltar, Blue Monkeys, Realside or any of the other names I put out music under. I am cancelling all my gigs and not taking any more. My hotmail is closed, my Twitter is closed and my Facebook is closed. If any of you want to talk to me and know me well enough to have my mobile number then that is still the same, and please feel free to call any time. My other email address I mail from occasionally is still open to tie up any loose ends.

With their first dreiton.net release Markus Rassiller and Dizzkant aka s:e:m:a prove that german poetry, influenced by the classic modern, and electronic music of the 21. century absolutely can undergo a perfect symbiosis.
s:e:m:a creates soundscapes cleverly moving between minimalism, deepness and a proper portion of melancholy. Soundcapes that capture and embrace the spoken word only to release it just in the right moment.
Remixes of Christoph Schindling und Frank Hellmond complete this wonderful EP. While Christoph prefers splendid wide flat sounds that smoothly spread over the lyrics, Frank Hellmond uses in his adaption only a few text fragments which he specifically sets in his melodic grooving tracks.
We wish you great fun while listenting!

Although he’s been making noise as a DJ and producer for years, 2009 found Brooklyn’s Dre Skull expanding his sonic range into the worlds of hip-hop, bounce, electro, and dancehall. He’s also founded his own label, Mixpak, as an outpost for his own productions.
Recent months have seen a whole lot of hullabaloo surrounding the burgeoning UK funky house scene (including our current issue’s cover story), but significantly less attention has been given to how these rhythms are intermingling with the world of dancehall. In search of more information, not to mention a sampling of new music, we turned to The Heatwave, the London-based DJ and production crew headed by Gabriel Myddelton that has spent much of the decade firmly planted on dancehall and reggae’s bleeding edge.
The NYC duo throw down some groovy melodic house for this week’s RA podcast.
Olivier Spencer and Eric Duncan are two guys with some serious disco credentials. As part of the Rub N Tug duo with Thomas Bullock, Duncan has been at the forefront of the current disco revival ever since their rowdy looped up version of Chicago Transit Authority’s “I’m a Man” appeared on Rong Music, with remixes of Out Hud, LCD Soundsystem, Sly Mongoose and Roxy Music becoming dance floor staples in sets of more discerning disco and house DJs. Both Spencer and Duncan are part of edit supergroup How & Why alongside Rong co-founder Jason Drummond (AKA DJ Spun), and as one part of House Of House, Liv is responsible for the end of the night disco-house bomb “Rushing To Paradise.”
As Still Going, it’s been a long two years since the duo kicked off their production project with the memorably anthemic piano-house grooves of “Still Going Theme,” but they’ve finally managed to follow it up. “Spaghetti Circus,” which opens their RA podcast, is a totally different beast, with the outlandishly rousing voice of comedian/musician Reggie Watts riding atop the track’s duelling guitars and galloping beat. London residents digging their RA podcast will be no doubt glad to know that the pair will be making their UK debut for Warm at Plastic People this Friday. We spoke to Liv and Eric about the mix, house music in New York and the “difficult second single.”

Just dropping by to introduce you to my music. My name is Xavier Toscano (pronounced X-a-veer) and I am a singer songwriter from the San Francisco Bay Area. Below are some links to my website and other music sites.
This is the first release by a new Toucan Music artist, Yakoozai, featuring two uplifting trance tracks. “Caribbean Dream” is a fast, melodic trance tune featuring a catchy uplifting synth riff, dreamy pianos and thumping beats. “Self Inflicted” is a slightly darker, more progressive track with an anthemic trance riff, building synth effects and bouncy rhythms. Two melodic UK trance remixes by John Dalling are also provided. All mixes are in full, DJ friendly, high quality MP3 format and ideal for mixing into your DJ set.
Yakoozai is Joel, born in 1984 in Northern Virginia, USA. Joel developed a love for music at a young age and was introduced to the Paul Oakenfold album “2 years at Cream” when he was 17 by a couple of friends and says, “I couldn’t believe my ears (literally), the last song called “Prophet” by CJ Bolland is amazing! I had never heard music so uplifting, listening to the whole album was like a rollercoaster of emotions. I started going to “BUZZ” in D.C. and and mainly only listened to Tech/Trance/Progressive at the time. I started playing as a DJ in the Christmas of 1997 after going to numerous raves at “BUZZ” and “EDGE” which were side by side in Downtown D.C. I started with some turntables from the thrift store, a mixer from Radio Shack and a Boss 303 Drum machine/sampler.”
Joel started producing shortly after this and now resides in Charleston, SC: “Since the move in 2005 I have been perfecting my sound in hopes of putting out a fully produced album which DJs all over the world will be playing. I have worked with Shea Vaughn producing the album for her workout video “Shea Netics” which is a three DVD set. I have produced radio commercials and TV commercial soundtracks for Brooke Faville for her Company “Wondrous Products”. I have done recording and producing work for Andi Afsar who has recorded acts like Hootie and the Blow Fish and Jimmy Buffet. I have spun with the likes of AK1200 and Curtis B and play regular gigs at Halligans and Buffalo South. I do a lot of graphic design for flyers all over SC as well as producing and spinning daily.”
Based out of San Francisco, the 40 Thieves are a music collective, DJs and friends. Drawing on various superpowers the members combine forces to create their own brand of future/soul/dance songs and short comedy skits for Smash Hit and other fine labels around the globe.
For our podcast this exclusive mix that represents what they are currently playing.
Thanks to his dad Klaus grew up with electronic music by J.M. Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schultze, Space, Charlie Mike Sierra, Johan Timman, Alphaville and lots of others. Strongly influenced by the artists mentioned, he found his way to the recordstores and started collecting his own vinyl in the early 90s.
Straight from east flanders (Belgium) here’s great talent Ada! One big party guaranteed mix! Some party house, electro & club! Trashy! Hands in the air!
