it’s of course not a coincidence that the kind of dubtechno we feature since a couple of years, remains in a permanent revival. although the common sound of the refreshing dubstep movement is rough, loud and barely subtle, london’s highly skilled new generation of producers is obviously inspired by the deepness and inexhaustibility of dubtechno. winter mutiny dubs is developing a techno sound influenced by 70s dub and reggae, taking as a point of departure original 45 records & digging through those old productions for sonic lessons from the psychedelically accelerated future producers of the past, finding new directions and techniques for experimentation. this music is loose, noisy and unpredictable; it evokes live sessions with mixing board and analog delay more than calculated compositions with sequencers and drum machines.
full length wintermutiny album, a track-by-track remix of Meditation Dub, Vol. 1 by Winston Riley & Roots Radics.
Our second release came up after Andrea contacted me in the autumn of 2008 sending me two massive and functional dub-techno-tracks.
As i didn’t want to release a CD with only two tracks we decided to ask some people to remix the tracks. The result is a very different and personal view of eight other artists on his tracks.
Remixes were made by Lo, Ocralab, Birkemann, Martin Schulte, Zzzzra, Terdion, Ant:stat:k and me. TSS-O2 is yet free to download
Jemset’s last mix for this year features a great and diverse selection of tech-house netaudio releases, including funky club tunes, deep grooves and dub soundscapes.
we’ve got something special for you this sunday: a new mix by our very good friend, silent servant. inspired by a super deep opening set from regis at the recent sandwell district gig in berlin, this is a more downbeat and introspective mix, well suited for a sunday. in his own words, “it is an all vinyl mix from a stack of my favorite dub techno and dub inspired non techno tracks. it was mixed in one shot.” this shows yet another side of juan mendez, further illustrating the depth and breadth of his musical knowledge. i am consistently impressed by this man’s creativity, and strongly feel he is one of the most interesting and worthwhile voices in contemporary techno. respect.
Still in his early twenties but with an immense body of work already behind him, Sven Weisemann is one of the most precociously talented producers of his generation. [...]
Two years of regular immersions have made deeplimit a competent pilot of deep-water techno-music. The endorsement of it is the release, by which the musicians are summing up two-years voyage.
The purified sound without any bustle and haste. The beginning is ambient, incredibly atmospheric and placatory insensibly dispose us the contemplating harmony and make us throw off all our troubles and look into ourselves.
Several more minutes of making up our mind and we irrevocably find ourselves into the power of velvet bass lines and charming percussions. The immersion is occurring imperceptibly, but very fast we are caught up and carried away by the rhythmical underwater flow, track after track, that is taking away to reveal deep techno mysteries.
After the interview done fromiyezine.com, ( english - italian ), concerning the netaudio / netlabels scene, I was inspired making a sequel of ” The Piooner ” Mix, to show you the artists and netlabels protagonists and Pioneers at same time of an underground musical circuit, recognized and consolidated of what means Netaudio Music today.
Most of tracks featured in this mix are not more available to download online, because the netlabels are not more active or they changed their directions for the digital pay downloads.
This is also a brief of electronic musical history that show you how unknow talented artists can grow up until became famous for their quality music.
Martin Clark oferece um mix de Hatcha gravado em 2002. O registro traz faixas seminais de Skream e Benga, além de remixes de Menta e clássicos do gênero.
Coming back again Saturday’s PIKNIC 1 at MUTEK_10, we come to New York-based Brendon Moeller’s stellar and very memorable mix. Another highlight for the team this year, Moeller artfully blended influences such as dub, techno, jazz, and, of course, baaaass in a set that really got the crowd moving.
Brendon was kind enough to provide us with a few words about his set at MUTEK, complete with a tracklisting for those that want to dig deeper:
“I put together this live show to coincide with the release of my album ‘jazz junk safari’ on third ear records. However, there is also a fair representation of me as a whole. There’s the trademark dub and groove the is evident in all I do. :)
The set also includes reworkings of all the originals as well as some surprise mash ups. Enjoy!”
Jak is back bringing us more of his deep dubby techy sounds. Each track slowly developing deep flushing dark soulful loops all coming, going, and getting lost in their own shadows. Slow hypnotic rhythms fused together and unified perfectly to bring harmonious bliss. One that reminds and gives you appreciation of the ever so slow and subtile transition of seasons that always comes and goes yearly. We thank Jak for another great little shot of soul, but like the flu during these chilly days, his sound is ever so infectious.
This is the 4th volume of our little mix series combining tracks from all over of the netaudio world that have (for me) a somehow “submarine” sound. It mixes not less than 32 tracks in 64 minutes and I personally have had a lot of fun of doing it and like the result (although I know that I’m far away of being a DJ or what) – So, maybe this is also interesting for you.
After a much-needed break following the intense celebration that was MUTEK_10, we’re proud to announce the return of our MUTEKLIVE podcast series! To kick off the fall we’re bringing out Thomas Fehlmann’s live daytime set from the MUTEK@Piknic event on Saturday, May 30, 2009. One of the team’s personal highlights, Fehlmann brought his very special kind of dub-techno to an enthusiastic crowd during one of the few sunny days of the MUTEK_10 festival week.
