[PL004] Nors’Klh – La Montagne Vivante (2009)

November 8, 2009 · Leave a Comment

http://ia341324.us.archive.org/0/items/PL004/thumb.jpg

Nors’Klh …. that name still echoes in my head.

Visions of gigantic tentacles devouring stars, huge living mountains, desert plains whence arise columns infinitely large and dark, deformed beings wandering in the cosmos and attracting some universe at them, for their destruction … take place in my head, again and again ..

Over the years I had the need to express them through all forms of art available to me. The music has been most revealing. For 10 years, I try to transcribe it by the sound, this magnificent horrors. With the first verse, “La Montagne Vivante” (“the Living Mountain”), i began a long journey wich will last three albums and will drown the listener in my visions, my nightmares, my fantasies and my dreams …

Welcome to the Circle of Three Dead …

[ca326] Mutation Urbaine – Ville Imaginaire (2009)

November 1, 2009 · Leave a Comment

http://ia341340.us.archive.org/2/items/ca326_mu/ca326_01_front72.jpg

Quiet Lips, suspended in emptiness, undulating and shimmering, fused with water and fire, gives us a feeling appeasing. Strange decor where reality and the fiction merge narrowly ; minimalist landscape evoking a Feeling of Emptiness, disquiet and sometimes of unrest. In the distance, is concealed an Imaginary City curiously beautiful and mysterious giving a disturbing glance and angelic. Behind this thick fog an industrialized and confined Urban Landscape appears in full development more each day. With a great amplitude, Light Vagabond scans the waves and propagates a soft melody which perpetually gyrates losing itself in the bowels of the city. In the depths of the underground galleries, a Haunted Subway Train, staggered in search of its distant past, tirelessly furrows the icy underground tunnels, to disappear into the dark night.

instr. : guitare, basse, basse baritone, piano et M.A.O.

[treetrunk093] Mister Vapor versus The Ghost Between The Strings – Structures In Transit (2009)

September 23, 2009 · Leave a Comment

http://ia311027.us.archive.org/1/items/StructInTrans/A_Thumbnail_thumb.jpg

In 2009, The Ghost Between The Strings approached Mister Vapor with some interesting guitar-based loop structures, proposing that Vapor remix the loops, adding percussion and other light touches. The result is an engaging, often gritty industrial sound that makes a good sequel to “Urbscape”. Music for driving in the city at night.

[qd-4257] Switchboard Of Souls – Don’t Bother Me – Remixes (2009)

September 20, 2009 · Leave a Comment

http://ia311029.us.archive.org/3/items/qd-4257SwitchboardOfSouls-DontBotherMe-Remixes/Qd-4257_switchboardOfSouls-DontBotherMe-Cover_thumb.jpg

When Switchboard Of Souls sings: “Don’t bother me, just leave us alone, don’t you know that we’re all just as human,” he sounds the anthem of the alienated and the disenfranchised. It’s a simple enough tune, but the variations do bring new viewpoints to the plate.

The first two original 8-minute-plus tracks utilize a driving darkwave synth with guitars and vocals reminiscent of early New Order, but subsequent versions range from electro 808 State-like arrangements (Common Prayer Mix), to industrial stylings (BlenderMix), to sinister downtempo (Hands & Feet Mix), to 90s pop remix (InstrumentalMix), to new age piano (Sonata), to a combo of everything on the 2 reprises.

[cgw05] Myrrman – PorNOsmagoria (2009)

September 4, 2009 · Leave a Comment

http://ia311003.us.archive.org/1/items/cgw05/porno1_thumb.jpg

This is a solo-project of ArnoldPR of Reutoff. The rhythm is essentially closer to Das Reut, with its apocalyptic harmony and striking-down samples. The music is easy, but you feel its extreme heaviness after digging it. The album goes straight to the deepest sides of consciousness to settle in there and turn everything upside down.

The release presented as an oversized handmade digipack, limited edition. Almost sold out on www.coldgraey.com so we decided to share it. Enjoy!

[N.K72] – People & Angels (2009)

August 28, 2009 · 2 Comments

http://ia311033.us.archive.org/1/items/HAZE069/cover_thumb.jpgWhat can i say about this music? I doubt that thing that you’ll hear is possible to call a music in common meaning. This work is dedication to all people that died in world wars. Just wars or not, i won’t judge. Just war doesn’t exsist. This is always sorrow, grief, tears of mothers had never seen their sons again. Brides never weares their bridal veils, beloved stayed laying on fields of struggles. Wifes still feels husbands’ hugs in their dreams. We have to remember all of them who was with us – our children, husbands, beloved people. They are alive and with us when we think of them. Three of my childhood friends hadn’t come back from war in Afghanistan, fourth came crippled. I may say, this music (or something bigger than only music) inspired by communication and conversations about war with that man who was through the hell on earth.

My requiem for fallen. Minute of silence impressed on the sound.
Eternal memory for fallen soldiers!
God save you and your families from the horrors of war.

Slow and insane melody. Music coming from the sick mind of Fabiano Pimenta, made for those who want to suffocate your feelings in the dark gloomy atmosphere of the Dark Ambient / Harsh Noise.

[afm050] VA – #50 (2009)

August 7, 2009 · Leave a Comment

http://ia301502.us.archive.org/2/items/afm050_afmusic50/folder_thumb.jpg

Within just one year afmusic got off to a lightning start. The most innovative netlabel in Germany for Darkwave, Gothic and Independent Music celebrates on the label founder Falk Merten’s birthday their release-anniversary and distributes big presents to their fans – and that are 16 in number on this fiftieth publication.

All are on this Anniversary-Compilation “AFMUSIC #50″. Exactly one dozen of it are previously unreleased or recorded exclusively for this release. Beside many known afmusic-acts the sampler also presents an absolutely new band. Therefore, it is less a retrospective, than even more a look in the future of the label.

“AFMUSIC #50″ indicates not only the variety and versatility of the present releases, but also their high musical and artistic quality. LATRISTE – the newest member of the label family – immediately deliver with her first song a potential hit single. SMOKE FISH and EMERALD PARK contribute dark-coloured pop pearls of the grade 1A and CONFUSION IS NEXT are represented, just like LIGHT IN YOUR LIFE with a dreadfully nice ballad. Thereby the music ranges from Shoegaze to the sturdy Alternative rock.

SPINEFISH, (((S))) and ART NOIR provide for the dark sound-collage which hold together “AFMUSIC #50″ and lend a breathtaking atmosphere to the album.

In between the big potential of a lot of afmusic-bands flashes: The label-draught-horses ALL:MY:FAULTS cement with a never been there mixture of 8-bit Postmetal and spoken words their exceptional position as the most innovative German band of the scene. STROMBLE FIX’s “Dispirited” is more progressively Hybrid from Grunge and Deathrock, “Enjoy” of REPTILE71 is more sombre than the legendary “Drowning one” and CAMP Z present a modern version of the Sisters Of Mercy.

Crowning end of the completely successful afmusic-show is the “Smells Like Teen Spirit” cover, which is the most stretching cover with wide distance of this decade.

[tube'|177] 2methylBulbe1ol – Quelques Siècles d’Insomnie (2009)

July 15, 2009 · Leave a Comment

«2methylBulbe1ol is the chemical alias of french producer Nicolas Druoton, based out of Dijon, northeastern France which is the historical capital of Burgundy. Nicolas produces some very nice IDM of the Industrial type, very melodic, solid beats and rough and dirty edges. ‘Quelques Siècles d’Insomnie’ is therefore a short but juicy EP and will appeal to all IDM fans out there.

The artwork is also amazing and you can confirm everything when you purchase the limited Vinyl edition of this EP. Nicolas has some copies for the hardcore fans. Check out his website’s shop page.» – Pedro Leitão

Free Albums Galore » TD Black Sun – Bad Dreams of The Gloomy Girl

May 29, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Bad Dreams of the Gloomy Girl by TD Black Sun is a good and fairly typical example of dark ambient mixed with a dose of industrial. What rises this album above the fray of similar ambient sounds are two tracks, “Belissimi capelli” and “Autumn” featuring the operatic voices of Zubacheva Elena and Marushkina Tanya. Both tracks emit an almost Schoenbergian atmosphere as electronic music and soprano blends together. The rest of the album is also quite good but I keep replaying “Autumn” especially. I would love to hear more from this beautiful pairing.
